Dynos2k

Charleston’s Premier Dyno Facility

Regardless of the quantity and quality of your components that your performance engine has, they are all worthless without having the engine calibrated to achieve the optimal results.  Engine calibration (also commonly referred to as ‘tuning’) can make a difference from 10 miles per gallon to 29 miles per gallon in fuel economy. It can also yield horsepower/torque gains from 10whp to 500whp upwards depending on each set-up. More importantly, proper tuning will help keep your motor healthy and running strong throughout its lifetime.

History

Our dynotuner, Anthony Verma, has specialized in tuning engines since 2001. Unlike other individuals who enter the engine calibration field with little to no educational background, Anthony studied the fundamentals of internal engine combustion through Clemson University’s Mechanical Engineering program. To add to his credibility, he has worked with Clemson University’s Formula SAE car calibrating the engine utilizing a MoTec m4 Stand-alone Engine management system. To add to his educational background, Anthony Verma has also taken and completed both EFI 101 and EFI Advanced classes through EFI University (www.efi101.com). We like to believe that knowlege is power. Even though 75% of our clientele are Honda’s, we are far from being just limited to just them. We also offer tuning for Mitsubishi’s (Evo, Lancer, Eclipse, etc), Toyota (Supra, etc), Nissan’s, Ford’s, etc. We have tuned anything from 110whp honda engines up to 850whp 2jz Supra engines. If you do not see your EMS and application listed on this site please contact us via email. We are not only limited to the systems listed on this site as we can typically learn any system provided we are given documentation. We will not work with any freeware systems such as Uberdata or Crome.

Dyno Facility/Equipment:

AV Tuning & Development is proud to introduce their brand new in-house Dynojet 224xLC 2wd dynamometer. Unlike other dynojets found, we are the only facility to offer the Eddy Current Load Absorption Unit, Torque Cell, and dynamic load control software. With this unit we can perform loaded tests, including step, sweep, and wind drag simulation. What does that mean for you the customer? Better fuel economy, more midrange power, and no hesitation issues since we can hold your engine at a steady load and calibrate any parameter/cell we want.

For our clientele with AWD set-ups, we also offer tuning for you as well via an AWD Mustang Dynamometer. If you plan on running Race gas please let AV Tuning & Development know ahead of time if you wish us to supply VP 110 or VP C16. We also ask that you bring a fresh pair of spark plugs for your tune. If you do not bring these we carry NGK 7,8, and 9 series plugs for $15/set for all honda/acura’s.
